Ashland, Neb. – Senior Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St. Vincent-St. Mary) ran her second-best career time in the 6K with a time of 22:51.27 for the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic hosted by Doane University (Neb.) Saturday morning at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Neb. Mathis finished 27^th out of a field of 303 runners. As a team, the Cougars placed 17^th overall out of 27 teams with a score of 483. No. 3 University of Saint Mary (Kan.) won the event with a score of 30 with three runners in the Top 5, including the race-winner, Reagan Hiebert, who had a time of 21:31.41.

• Senior Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet JC/Plainfield South) posted her second-best career time in the 6K as well, crossing the finish line at 23:12.21 to place 46^th.
• Junior Yanira Deana Paninka (Canary Island, Spain/Central Methodist/IES Jandia) ran her second-best time of the season in the 6K with a mark of 25:12.0.
• Junior Emma Karczewski (Chicago, Ill./Marist) recorded a time of 25:50.96, her second-best career time in a 6K race.
• Junior Kenia Salgado (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) clocked in with her second-best career time in the 6K, finishing with a time of 25:52.25.
• Sophomore Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) crossed the line with a time of 28:06.81, the third-best time for her in the 6K.

Saint Xavier trains for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) on Saturday, November 9. The race takes place at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa at 11:00 am.
