Briana Krapf (Portage, Ind./Portage), racing in her first collegiate 6K, placed 32
nd overall and 30
th in scoring with a time of 23:53.7 for the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team at the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Invite Friday evening at the IWU Cross Country Course in Marion, Ind. Krapf posted the 19
th fastest time in school history in the 6K. The Cougars, who competed against four of the top 11 teams in the NAIA, finished 15
th out of 17 teams with a team score of 411. No. 1 Taylor University (Ind.) won the meet with a score of 35, placing three runners in the Top 10, including the individual winner, Jaynie Halterman, who crossed at 20:41.2.
- Freshman Ava Scheeringa (Hebron, Ind./Hebron) was 106th overall and 79th in scoring, recording a time of 25:34.6 in her first collegiate 6K race.
- Freshman Chloe Miller (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way West), also competing in her first collegiate 6K, finished with a time of 26:32.5.
- Junior Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) posted her third-best career time in the 6K, clocking in at 27:44.0.
- Junior Isabel Calderon (Orland Park, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Sandburg) made her SXU debut and her cross country debut, after running track at Olivet Nazarene, crossed the finish line at 30:10.6.
Saint Xavier is scheduled to compete at the Midwest Classic hosted by No. 21 Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) at Aspen Ridge Golf Course on Friday, September 19. The meet is slated for a 5:30 pm start.
