Sterling Heights, Mich. – Sophomore Jade Gabor (Newark, Ohio/Newark) earned a Top 10 finish as she placed eighth overall with 1,005 pins for the Saint Xavier University women's bowling team Saturday one the first day of the 54^th annual Brunswick Midwest Collegiate Championship at Five-Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Mich. As a team, the Cougars placed 16^th out of 42 teams with a two-day total of 7,209 pins. SXU knocked down 4,393 pins after the individual portion of the tournament to place 17^th on Saturday. Saint Xavier totaled 2,816 pins after 16 Baker Games on Sunday. SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) won the tournament with a victory over Cumberland University (Tenn.).

• On Sunday, Saint Xavier had six bowlers rotate into the Baker Games linuep: senior Emma Zalud (Bolingbrook, Ill./Downers Grove South), junior Abigail Miller (Lockport, Ill./Joliet JC/Lockport Township), junior Breanna Pimentel (Northlake, Ill./West Leyden), Gabor, freshman Ashley Baeza (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) and freshman Brianna Merner (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein)
• The Cougars averaged 176.0 per game in 16 games, hitting a high of 204 pins in game 11. They also hit 201 pins in game seven.
• In five games on Saturday, Gabor averaged 201.0 pins per game. She hit a high of 234 pins in game three, followed by 213 pins in game four.
• Pimentel placed 19^th after to toppled 967 pins for an average of 193.4 in five games. She bowled a high of 236 pins in game five after hitting 204 pins in game four.
• Merner finished 71^st with a total of 866 pins in five games. She rolled an average of 173.2 pins per game, and hitting a high of 186 pins in game one.
• Zalud collected 817 pins with an average of 163.4 across five games. She struck a high of 206 pins in game two.
• Baeza, appearing in her first collegiate tournament, competed in games four and five. She knocked down 303 pins with 194 in game four and 109 in game five.
• Miller bowled in games one and two, hitting 151 and 143 pins, respectively, for a total of 294.
• Sophomore Elizabeth Voss (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) saw action in game three, striking 141 pins.

Saint Xavier competes in the two-day Leatherneck Classic hosted by Western Illinois University that begins on Saturday, November 8 in Rockford, Ill.
