Jonathan Jacobo (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) shattered the program record with a time of 10:09.36 after placing 14
th for the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team at the Grand Valley State University (Mich.) Big Meet Saturday afternoon in Allendale, Mich. Their time hit the NAIA 'B' Standard and was the second-best time for an NAIA school in a field with teams from NCAA Division I, II & III programs. Senior
Lendale Franklin (Chicago, Ill./Roosevelt/Argo Community) also hit the NAIA 'B' Standard in the preliminaries of the 60m Hurdles on Friday, running the third-fastest time in team history at 8.13 seconds. He finished eighth overall in the finals at 8.21 seconds. The Cougars brought a limited roster to the two-day meet and no team scores were recorded.
- On Friday, Zufan finished in sixth place in the 200m Early Section as the lone NAIA runner with his fourth-best career time at 22.67 seconds.
- Junior Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) competed in a separate 200m event, recording the second-fastest time in team history at 21.86 seconds to place 11th overall.
- Junior Myles Money (Crete, Ill./Marian Catholic) ran in the 400m Early Section, posting a time of 51.30 for a 10th place draw.
- Zufan also ran in a separate 400m race, again as the only NAIA runner, running the third-quickest time in program history at 49.57 seconds.
- Senior Ronnie Foster (Peoria Heights, Ill./Peoria Heights) placed fifth in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.74m, tied for the ninth-best all-time at Saint Xavier.
- Foster finished in second place in the Triple Jump, recording the second-best jump in team history at 13.88m.
- Senior Ayobami Arokoyo (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) competed in the Shot Put, placing eight with a throw of 14.72m.
- Also competing on Saturday, Franklin finished third overall in a field of 83 runners in the 60m Dash with the sixth-fastest time in school history at 6.94 seconds.
- Sophomore Charles Campbell (Chicago, Ill./Quincy/Reavis) was 13th overall in the 200m with his time of 22.61 seconds.
- Senior Luke Snedden (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) established a new personal record (PR) in the 3000m, crossing the line at 8:56.58 and placing 33rd out of 90 runners as the lone NAIA competitor.
- Harris finished fourth in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.36 seconds.
- The 4x400 Relay team of Money, Zufan, Sytsma & Foster ran the second-fastest time in team history, placing fourth overall with a time of 3:21.88.
Saint Xavier will find out who qualified for the NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships that take place from February 27 to March 1 in Gainesville, Fla., when the NAIA announces all the individual and team qualifiers on Wednesday, February 19.
