Bourbonnais, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University men's track & field team sent a limited roster to the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational hosted by Siena Heights University (Mich.) in Adrian, Mich. on Friday, and they carried their normal squad to Bourbonnais, Ill. to compete at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill) Outdoor Open on Saturday. Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) won the 110m Hurdles for the second time in 2026, and the fifth time overall in his career, on Friday with a time of 14.48 seconds. He qualified with the quickest time on the preliminaries, and an NAIA 'B' Standard time of 14.36 seconds, his second-fastest career time, and tied for fourth-best in program history. Connor Whalen (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) won the Hammer Throw for the second time this year, and fourth time overall, with his third-best career distance at 56.56m to hit the NAIA 'B' Standard.
Kleinow Invite:
- Junior Jamaurien Thomas (Chicago, Ill./Ogden International) placed sixth in the 100m Dash, posting a time of 10.90 seconds. In the prelims, he established a new personal record (PR), and tied for the fifth-fastest time in team history, finishing in 10.66 seconds. Junior Nazheer Moore (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) logged is second-best time of the season at 11.02 seconds. Junior Jayquan Hampton (Chicago, Ill./Ogden International) lowered his PR for the second week in a row, clocking in at 11.18 seconds.
- Harris ran the sixth-quickest time in program history, also his sixth-best time, in the 200m at 21.56 seconds for a second-place finish. Thomas checked in with his second-fastest mark of the season at 22.58 seconds. Moore logged his fastest time of the year at 23.25 seconds.
- Junior Brandon Ferguson (Rockford, Ill./Viterbo/Auburn) finished third in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.73 seconds. He qualified for the finals with his third-best time of the year at 14.58 seconds.
- Ferguson booked his fastest time of the season in the 400m Hurdles, placing fourth overall with a time of 55.25 seconds.
ONU Outdoor Open:
- Thomas finished in eighth place in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.01 seconds. Moore booked a time of 11.21 seconds, just ahead of Ferguson, who made his season debut in the race, and his time of 11.29 seconds. Freshman Logan Perak (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) set a new PR, crossing the finish line in 11.33 seconds. Hampton recorded a mark of 11.50 seconds.
- Ferguson also competed in the 200m for the first time in the Outdoor season, posting a time of 22.74 seconds. Perak also ran in the race for the first time, checking in at 23.34 seconds.
- Harris became just the third runner in school history to run a sub-50 second time in the 400m with his PR time of 49.16 seconds, fifth-best ever for a Cougar, placing third. Ferguson ran in the event for the first time in 2026, clocking in at 51.50 seconds. Sophomore Trey Maciejewski (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) ran his second-best career time at 53.66 seconds. Also making their first appearance in the race were senior Rohindeep Bhattal (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence), crossing in 54.09 seconds, freshman Josh Bosstel (Portage, Ind./Portage) with his time of 54.53 seconds, freshman Alex Hay (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) at 55.49 seconds, Perak at 55.56 seconds and freshman Christian Orozco (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) at 56.03 seconds.
- Running in the 800m, fifth-year senior Julian Rosenbach (Joliet, Ill./Joliet JC/Joliet West) registered his second-fastest career time at 2:00.60. Sophomore Xavier Sananisai (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) bested his previous PR by over six seconds finishing at 2:02.46. Freshman Ben Gresham (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) debuted in the event, recording a time of 2:29.00.
- Senior Ben Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) came away with his best mark of the season in the 1500m, crossing at 4:12.76. Junior Alejandro Velazquez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) just missed topping his PR by 1/1000th of a second at 4:17.00. Freshman Joey D'Anca (Palos Heights, Ill./St. Laurence) ran in the event for the first time at the collegiate level, clocking in at 4:31.24.
- Junior Andy Damon (Crestwood, Ill./Oak Forest) ran the ninth-best time in team history in the 3000m, demolishing his old PR by over a minute with his sixth-place time of 9:09.90. Freshman Michal Wreczycki Jr. (Palos Park, Ill./Stagg) debuted in the race with a time of 9:22.17 to place ninth. Freshman Will Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) also ran in the race for the first time, posting a time of 9:24.64 for a 10th place draw. Sophomore Joey Lagattolla (Romeoville, Ill./Plainfield East) logged his third-best career time at 9:27.63.
- Freshman LaShawn Scott (Oak Park, Ill./Eisenhower) PR'd in the preliminaries of the 110m Hurdles, just missing qualifying at 17.20 seconds. He also ran a new PR in the 400m with a time of 1:02.94.
- The 4x100 Relay Team of Hampton, Harris, Moore & Thomas logged the ninth-quickest time in school history with their second-place time of 41.86 seconds.
- SXU featured two squads in the 4x400 Relay. The 'A' group of Bhattal, Sananasai, Rosenbach & Maciejewski placed fifth with a season-best time of 3:39.69. The 'B' team of Bosstel, Hay, Gresham and Orozco finished eighth with a mark of 3:45.54.
- Redshirt freshman Nick Gomez (Burbank, Ill./Wisconsin-Platteville/Reavis) registered his second-best jump of the season in the Long Jump, placing seventh, at 6.29m. Freshman Daniel Cabal (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) came away with his third-best distance of the year at 5.63m.
- In the Shot Put, senior Riley Lundgren (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) recorded his best throw of the 2026 campaign with a distance of 13.42m for a ninth-place finish. Junior Thomas Imburgia (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) also had a season-best mark of 12.82m. Freshman Nickoles Latham (Griffith, Ind./Calumet New Tech) was just behind his teammate with a toss of 12.63m. Senior Drake Hayes (Minooka, Ill./Minooka Community) set a new PR for the second meet in a row with his throw of 12.02m. Junior Thomas Toefield (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence) registered a season-best mark, and the second-best of his career, at 12.00m. Sophomore Adam Turner (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles) topped his previous PR with a toss of 11.73m, as did Sophomore Luis Perez (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) with his mark of 11.04m.
- Lundgren took eighth-place in the Discus after his season-best effort of 41.03m. Latham surpassed the 40.00m for the first time at 40.02m for a new PR. Perez smashed his old PR by almost eight meters with his throw of 39.01m. Imburgia came away with a toss of 33.90m.
- Also competing in the Hammer, Turner was seventh overall with a PR throw of 46.36m. Imburgia PR'd as well with a distance of 41.24m to place 10th. Latham logged his third-best toss of the season at 41.15m. Perez made his debut in the discipline with a distance of 38.95m. Hayes joined his teammates with a PR throw of 33.37m.
- Sophomore Nate Kalk (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) posted the third-best throw in team history in the Javelin, and his second-best, to finish in second place with a distance of 45.11m. Freshman Jason Crowe (Worth, Ill./Shepard) took fourth place after his throw went 43.29m for a new PR, and the eight-best ever by a Saint Xavier athlete. Perez PR'd as well with his fifth-place toss of 41.47m. Toefield booked his second-best throw of the year at 27.53m.
Saint Xavier travels to Joliet, Ill. to take part in the two-day Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships that begin on Friday, May 2 at Joliet Memorial Field.
