Ronnie Foster (Peoria Heights, Ill./Peoria Heights) set a program record, becoming the first jumper for the Cougars to eclipse the 7.00m mark, taking first in the Long Jump at 7.03m, and he claimed first in the Triple Jump with a distance of 14.16m for the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Tiger Open Saturday in Bourbonnais, Ill. Sophomore
Connor Whalen (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) also made an impact for SXU, breaking his own school record in the Hammer by more than two meters with his first-place effort of 49.94m. Overall, Saint Xavier placed third out of 13 scoring teams with 71 points. The host Tigers totaled 216 points, and runner-up Lewis University (Ill.) collected 161 points.
- Junior Myles Money (Crete, Ill./Marian Catholic) finished eighth in the 100m Dash with a season-best time of 11.06 seconds, his second-best career time as well. Sophomore Nazheer Moore (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) also recorded his second-fastest mark of the season, crossing at 11.16 seconds. Sophomore Jamaurien Thomas (Chicago, Ill./Ogden International) equaled his fastest time of the season at 11.31 seconds. Sophomore Jayquan Hampton (Chicago, Ill./Ogden International) made his Outdoor debut in the race, clocking in at 11.41 seconds.
- Moore set a new personal record (PR) in the 200m after he posted a sixth-place time of 22.31 seconds. Thomas logged his second-quickest time of the season with a 10th place draw of 22.65 seconds. Sophomore Marquise Hurst (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) ran a second-best time of 23.03 seconds for his second-fastest career mark. Redshirt junior Karam Jaber (Palos Heights, Ill./Shepard) established a new PR with his time, running over a second quicker at 23.27 seconds. Foster registered his second-best career time in the event at 23.30 seconds. Hampton also made his debut in Outdoor competition, clocking in at 23.91 seconds, milliseconds faster than sophomore Faruq Sulaimon (Oak Forest, Ill./Andrew), who had a time of 23.91 seconds, who set a new PR. Freshman Trey Maciejewski (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) debuted in the event as well, posting a time of 24.35 seconds.
- In the 400m, Hurst ran a season-best time of 51.92 seconds, just ahead of Maciejewski, who debuted in the race, who finished at 52.21 seconds. Jaber set another PR, clearing his old mark by nearly two seconds, at 54.68 seconds.
- Senior Isaac Sytsma (Highland, Ind./Indiana Tech/Calumet St. Joseph/Highland) ran in the 800m for the first time this season, crossing the line at 1:58.53. Junior Ben Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) ran his first sub-two-minute time, topping his old PR by more than five seconds with his time of 1:59.51. Junior Rohindeep Bhattel (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) also ran his first sub-two-minute mark, finishing with a new PR by nearly four seconds at 1:59.86. Senior Julian Rosenbach (Joliet, Ill./Joliet JC/Joliet West) PR'd as well, shaving almost four seconds off his old mark, running a time of 2:00.43. Senior Luke Snedden (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) shattered his previous best by over nine seconds with a new PR of 2:01.55. Senior Josiah Sianez (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) ran in the event for the first time in an Outdoor meet, logging a time of 2:06.15. Sophomore Luis Lopez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) PR'd by over seven seconds with his time of 2:07.31. Freshman Xavier Sananisai (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) debuted in the race, recording a time of 2:08.71.
- Freshman Joey Lagattolla (Romeoville, Ill./Plainfield East) ran in the 1500m for the first time, finishing at 4:23.18. Sophomore Alejandro Velazquez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) also debuted in the race, clocking in at 4:23.52. Sophomore Andy Damon (Crestwood, Ill./Oak Forest) set a new PR by over six seconds with his time of 4:24.02.
- The 4x100 Relay Team of junior Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower), Thomas, Money and Moore posted the fourth-quickest time in school history with their third-place draw at 41.77 seconds.
- Freshman Tracy Lee (Chicago, Ill./Proviso West) set the program record in the High Jump, becoming the first Cougar to hit 1.80m, hitting that height to place ninth overall.
- Also competing in the Long Jump, Sulaimon posted his third-best jump of the season at 5.70m.
- In the Shot Put, junior Riley Lundgren (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) came away with his second-best throw of the season at 14.11m to place third. Sophomore Thomas Imburgia (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) booked his best throw of the year, and the second-furthest in his career, with a fifth-place distance of 13.56m. Junior Donovan Jackson (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King) made his season debut, taking seventh with a toss of 12.92m. Sophomore Thomas Toefield (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence) equaled his second-best career distance at 11.50m for a new season-high. Junior Drake Hayes (Minooka, Ill./Minooka Community) posted his second-best effort of the season at 11.22m. Senior Mark Pinnock (Miami Gardens, Fla./Krop) logged a throw of 10.66m. Senior Robert Davis (Oak Forest, Ill./Tinley Park) checked in with a toss of 9.56m in his season debut in the event. Freshman Luis Perez (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) recorded a distance of 8.13m.
- Lundgren registered his second-best mark of the year in the Discus after a third-place throw of 40.80m. Imburgia was seventh overall with a mark of 39.23m. Jackson placed in the Top 10 with his 10th place distance of 35.75m., just ahead of Whalen's mark of 34.57m, who placed 11th. Junior Justin Laws (Roxana, Ill./Roxana) posted a season-best throw of 33.58m. Hayes established a new PR with a distance of 28.30m.
- In the Hammer, Laws logged a new PR by nearly four meters to take second behind Whalen with a mark of 48.70m. Sophomore Alberto Zavala (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) made his season debut in the event, recording a new PR with a seventh-place toss of 45.10m. Jackson tallied his third-best career throw in his season debut at 39.70m. Imburgia posted his second-best career distance at 36.62m, while Lundgren came away with his second-best effort of the season at 35.68m. Davis topped the 30.00m for the first time in his career with a PR throw of 31.29m. Sophomore Emiliano Zavala (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) made his season debut by setting a new PR at 24.97m.
- Competing in the Javelin, Perez placed eighth with a throw of 35.86m. Freshman Nate Kalk (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) PR'd by almost eight meters with his toss of 33.95m. Fifth-year senior Martin Tolentino (Burbank, Ill./St. Laurence) logged his second-best throw of the season at 33.28m. Toefield surpassed the 30.00m mark for the first time with a PR of 30.53m, while Davis booked a season-best throw of 24.81m.
Saint Xavier prepares for a busy run in two weeks when they participate in the four-day Drake University (Iowa) Relays beginning on April 23, the two-day Kip Jarvin Open hosted by Simpson College (Iowa) starting on April 24, the Viking Classic hosted by Grand View University (Iowa) on Friday, April 25 and the ONU Outdoor Open on Saturday, April 26.
