Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St Vincent-St. Mary) placed fourth in the 800m Championship race with a time of 2:12.08, broking her own school record by over a second and while also hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard for the Saint Xavier University women's track and field team Friday on the second day of the 55
th annual 'Gina' Relays hosted by Hillsdale College (Mich.) in Hillsdale, Mich. With her time, Mathis recorded the seventh-best mark in the NAIA so far in 2025. The Cougars only brought a select number of runners to the event.
- Junior Emerson Colins (New Lenox, Ill./St. Francis/Lincoln-Way West) finished third in the 100m Dash Open race, crossing the line with a season-best time of 12.22 seconds for her third-best career time at SXU.
- Colins also ran in the 200m Dash Open race, taking seventh place with a time of 25.68, her second-quickest mark of the season, and the sixth-fastest time in program history.
- Junior Yanira Deana Paninka (Canary Island, Spain/Central Methodist/IES Jandia) ran in the 800m Open race, placing first in her Saint Xavier debut in the event, with a time of 2:19.55.
- Senior Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet JC/Plainfield South) also competed in the 800m Championship race, coming away with her second-best career time after an eight-place draw at 2:16.45,
Saint Xavier participates in the four-day Drake University (Iowa) Relays beginning on Wednesday, April 23. The Cougars will also compete in the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Outdoor Open on Saturday, April 26.
