CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University women's track and field team competed at the Drake University (Iowa) Relays on Thursday and Friday in Des Moines, Iowa, and at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Outdoor Open Saturday in Bourbonnais, Ill. The 4x800 Relay team of senior
Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet JC/Plainfield South), junior

Kristin Booker (St. Louis, Mo./Cardinal Ritter) and senior
Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St Vincent-St. Mary) hit the NAIA 'A' Standard with the second-fastest time in program history, taking sixth overall with a time of 9:16.57 on Thursday.
On Saturday, Clarke recorded the best time in the 800m with a new personal record (PR) time of 2:15.46. It was the second time in her career that Clarke won the race. Junior
Alanna Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Homeschool) won the 5000m Race Walk with a season-best time of 30:27.63. She recorded her third-best career time while winning the event for the sixth time overall. Also setting a new PR was freshman
Mariah James (Alsip, Ill./Shepard), when she took first place in the Hammer, logging a throw of 41.06m. She topped her old PR by two meters and becomes just the second Cougar thrower to ever win the event.
Drake Relays:
- In the preliminaries of the 4x400 Relay, the group of Deanna Paninka, Clarke, sophomore Amaya Rique (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area/Seckman) and Mathis shattered the previous school record, running the first sub-four-minute time at 3:55.61, missing the qualifying mark by four seconds.
- SXU ran in the Sprint Medley Relays (SMR) 1600m for the first time in school history. The group of junior Emerson Colins (New Lenox, Ill./St. Francis/Lincoln-Way West), Rique, Mathis and Booker finished 14th with a time of 4:21.25
ONU Outdoor Open:
- Colins posted a season-best time in the 100m Dash, placing second at 12.29 seconds for the seventh-fastest time in team history. Freshman Sophia Thomas (Highland, Ill./Highland) registered a new PR with her time of 14.18 seconds.
- In the 200m, sophomore Rashiya Warfield (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) booked her second-best career time, crossing at 28.08 seconds. Thomas lowered her season-best time for the second consecutive meet, finishing at 29.18 seconds.
- Rique ran her second-best time of the season in the 400m with a ninth-place time of 1:02.08. Warfield ran in the event for the first time his year, clockin in at 1:15.41.
- Junior Emma Karczewski (Chicago, Ill./Marist) also competed in the 800m, recording her second-best career time at 2:43.29.
- In the 1500m, Sophomore Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) posted her second-best career time at 5:36.31. Freshman Ava Mayer (Chicago, Ill./Marist) shaved almost 10 seconds off of her previous best time, finishing at 6:06.43.
- Warfield established a new PR, tying for the second-fastest time in SXU history, in the prelims of the 100m Hurdles at 15.29 seconds. She took third in the finals with her second-quickest career time at 15.38 seconds.
- Junior Kenia Salgado (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) logged a season-best time in the 400m Hurdles with her ninth-place draw of 1:20.61.
- Thomas made her debut in the Long Jump, coming away with a distance of 4.48m.
- Junior Jamie Sierocki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished second in the Shot Put with the third-best throw in Saint Xavier history at 12.41m. Senior Lana Krohe (Streator, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Streator) registered her best throw of the season after placing third at 11.95m. James placed seventh with a distance of 10.98m, while sophomore Amariah Scott (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Township) also had a Top 10 finish, drawing eighth at 10.68m.
- In the Discus, James posted her second-best throw of the season at 34.50m to tie for fourth place along with Sierocki. Krohe made her season debut in the event, placing ninth with a toss of 30.21m. Scott recorded her best throw of the year with a 10th place distance of 29.00m.
- Sierocki joined James in setting a new PR in the Hammer as she finished third overall with a mark of 39.52m. Scott tallied her second-best throw of 2025 with her seventh-place distance of 38.41. Krohe debuted in this event as well, logging a toss of 37.13m to claim ninth place.
- In the Javelin, Sierocki finished third with a throw of 30.73m.
Saint Xavier prepares for the two-day Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Outdoor Championships that begin on Friday, May 2 at Joliet Memorial Stadium in Joliet, Ill.
