Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St Vincent-St. Mary) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week when the awards were announced by the league office Wednesday morning. She claimed the award after her fourth-place finish in the 800m Championship race at the 55
th annual 'Gina' Relays hosted by Hillsdale College (Mich.) in Hillsdale, Mich. last Friday. It is the first time that Mathis has claimed CCAC Track Athlete of the Week for the Cougars.
- Mathis broke her own school record in the event, crossing at 2:12.08 while also hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard for the Cougars. She just missed the 'A' Standard by .08 seconds, posting the eighth-quickest time in the NAIA, and the fastest mark in the CCAC so far this season.
Saint Xavier participates in the four-day Drake University (Iowa) Relays beginning on Wednesday, April 23. The Cougars will also compete in the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Outdoor Open on Saturday, April 26.
