CHICAGO – Freshman
Lincoln Chizmark (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) from the Saint Xavier University men's golf team was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Golf Freshman of the Year when the awards were announced by the league office Friday morning after the conclusion of the CCAC Men's Golf Championships that saw St. Ambrose University (Iowa) win the event and earn an automatic berth into the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship Tournament that begins Tuesday, May 20 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Chizmark, who won CCAC Men's Golfer of the Week on March 26, is the first Cougar golfer for the men's team to earn CCAC Freshman of the Year honors.
- Chizmark competed in 11 tournaments and one match-play event for SXU this year, seeing action in 20 rounds. He started his collegiate career with a round of 66 (-6) in his first round of play at the Augustana University (Ill.) Highland Championship on September 2, 2024, for a season low score, and finishing in a time for third, his highest draw of the season.
- Chizmark added five other rounds of play with scores under 80, finishing with an average card of 81.3 on the year.
