Lincoln Chizmark (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) posted the top individual score, shooting a two-day score of 148 (+6) to help lead the Saint Xavier University men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Saints Classic hosted by Holy Cross College (Ind.) at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. Chizmark shot a 76 Monday afternoon, and he recorded an Eagle on the Par-Five 10
th hole. On Tuesday, he lowered his score by five shots with a 71 as he made three birdies on the Front Nine: The Par-Four first hole, the Par-Five fifth hole and the Par-Four eighth hole. The Cougars tallied a team score of 622 (+54), two strokes ahead of runner-up Grand Rapids Community College (Mich.). Chizmark, along with sophomore
Talon Hawk (Athens, Ohio/Morro Bay) and freshman
Thor Hock (Palos Park, Ill./Brother Rice) all earned All-Tournament with Hawk and Hock tied for third place, respectively.
It is the first time since April 9, 2024, that Saint Xavier had both the top individual performer and the best team score when junior
Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) shot a round of 73 and SXU won the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invite with a score of 308.
- Hawk shot a 36-hole total of 154 (+12). In round one, he shot a 76 as he made a birdie on the Par-Four fourth hole and another on the Par-Five 17th hole. Hawk tallied a score of 78 in round two, collecting four birdies on the fourth hole, fifth hole, 10th hole and the Par-Four 18th hole.
- Hock came away with a score of 154 (+12) as well. He finished the first 18-hole loop with a round of 75, and draining three birdie putts on the fourth hole, the Par-Four 15th hole and the 18th hole. In his second lap of the course, Hock shot a 79, making a birdie on the Par-Four 12th hole.
- Freshman Ryne Shields (Oak Lawn, Ill./Brother Rice) tied for 22nd overall with a two-day score of 165 (+23) while competing as an individual in the tournament. On day one, he shot an 81 while sinking a birdie on the fifth hole. Shields finished the second day with a round of 84, making another birdie on the fifth hole.
- Stood finished in a tie for 25th place with a total score of 167 (+25). He turned in a card of 83 on Monday. Stood drained a birdie on the Par-Four 16th hole on the final day to post a score of 84.
- Junior Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) was just a shot behind his teammate, placing in a tie for 30th with a tally of 168 (+26). He finished round one with a score of 85, sinking a birdie on the Par-Four seventh hole. Glennon shaved two strokes off his score in round two, shooting an 83, and making a birdie putt on the 10th hole.
