Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) and junior
Connor Whalen (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) represented the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team at the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships this week at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla. Harris competed in the 200m and 60m Hurdles, while Whalen became the first thrower for the Cougars to compete at nationals in the Weight Throw. Harris was the first SXU runner to race in the 200m, and the second to run in the 60m Hurdles, joining his former teammate
Lendale Franklin (2021-2025) qualified in 2023 and 2024. Marian University (Ind.) repeated as National Champions as they collected 66 points.
- On Friday, Harris finished 10th in the preliminaries, just missing the cut for the finals by .13 seconds with his time of 21.59 seconds. It was his fifth-best time of the season, as well as the fifth-fastest in team history. Harris owns the 13 quickest time in the 200m all-time for Saint Xavier.
- In the prelims of the 60m Hurdles, Harris ran his fourth-fastest career time at 8.17 seconds, placing 13th. His time was the ninth-quickest in program history.
- Whalen posted his fourth-best career toss in the Weight Throw at 16.64m to finish 26th overall. His distance was the fifth-best ever by a Cougar thrower.
Saint Xavier returns to action later in the month when the Outdoor Track & Field season begins.
