Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcolm X/St. Rita) tied for 20
th overall at the two-day Saint Classic hosted by Holy Cross College (Ind.) at Warren Golf Course for the Saint Xavier University men's golf team, after shooting a total score of 161 (+19). He posted a day one score of 78 and shot an 83 on Tuesday afternoon. SXU placed ninth of out 11 teams with a team score of 684 (+116, 337, 347). Morningside University (Iowa) won the team title, narrowly beating out Bethel University (Ind.) by one stroke and Roosevelt University (Ill.) by two shots, respectively, with a score of 619 (+51, 313, 306). Peyton Woods from Illinois Central College had the lowest individual score, shooting 146 (+4, 77, 69) and won by two shots over the runner-up.
- Freshman Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) finished in a three-way tie for 37th with his total score of 170 (+28). He shot a round of 83 Monday afternoon and turned in a card of 87 on day two.
- Junior Clayton Bumsted (Palos Heights, Ill./Stagg) recorded a two-day score of 176 (+34). He finished the first 18 holes with a score of 91 on day one and lowered his score by six shots Tuesday afternoon (85).
- Freshman Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) was one shot behind his teammate, totaling a score of 177 (+35). He shot an 85 on Monday afternoon and finished day two with a round of 92.
- Freshman Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) shot a 36-hole total of 185 (+43). He carded a 91 on day one and finished the round two loop with a score of 94.
Saint Xavier wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule and will return to action when they travel to Tampa, Fla. to compete in the three-day Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff at Saddlebrook Resort Golf Course that begins on Thursday, March 7.
