Michael Furlong (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice) shot a three-round total of 242 (+26) and finished 13th overall for the Saint Xavier University men's golf team at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Golf Tournament Tuesday afternoon at Cinder Ridge Golf Course in Wilmington, Ill. As a team, the Cougars placed sixth out of the 10 teams competing with a total score of 1,000 (+136) to end its 2022-23 season. Roosevelt University narrowly won the team title to secure an automatic berth into the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship Tournament, winning by four shots over Holy Cross College (Ind.). Matthew Politte from Holy Cross won the individual crown after a two-hole playoff and earned a trip to the NAIA Tournament as the individual medalist.
- On day one, the competitors played 36 holes. Furlong was in a tie for 12th after an 82 in round one and a score of 78 later in the afternoon. He shot an 82 on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcom X/St. Rita) finished in a three-way tie for 15th with a 54-hole score of 244 (+28). He was tied for 21st after day one after shooting rounds of 82 and 83. Patton turned in a card of 79 Tuesday afternoon.
- Senior Matt Fitzpatrick (Evergreen Park, Ill./Moraine Valley/Brother Rice) had a two-day total of 251 (+35) and finished 24th overall. He was in a tie for 7th after the first 36 holes when he shot a 78 in round one and an 80 in round two. Fitzpatrick shot a 93 to conclude the tournament on day two.
- Senior Marty Bennett (Evergreen Park, Ill./Moraine Valley/Brother Rice) posted 54-hole score of 263 (+47) and placed 32nd. He was in 31st place on day one with a score of 86 after round one and improved by one shot with an 85 in the second round. Bennett finished the last loop with a score of 92.
