Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) finished with a two-day score of 157 (81,76) and was +15 to place 38
th for the Saint Xavier University men's golf team at the NAIA Midwest Invitational hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Tuesday afternoon. His second-round score of 76 was the second-best round of the season for SXU. As a team, Saint Xavier was 15
th out of the 15 teams that competed with a team score of +76. Midland University (Neb.) won the team title, shooting +21, while Thomas Peluchon from Roosevelt University (Ill.) had the lowest individual score at 133 (68, 65) and was the only golfer to finish under par at -9.
- Freshman Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) finishes with a two-day score of 160 (83,77). His round two score of 77 was his second-best round of the year.
- Freshman Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) wasn't far behind with a two-day total of 162 (84,79). His day two round of 79 was the lowest of his young collegiate career.
- Junior Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcolm X/St. Rita) placed close to his teammates, totaling a two-day score of 165 (80,85).
- Junior Clayton Bumsted (Palos Heights, Ill./Stagg) carded a 36-hole mark of 175 (90,85) and improved by five strokes in the second round.
Saint Xavier has a quick turnaround as they travel to Notre Dame, Ind. to compete in the two-day Battle at Blackthorn hosted by Bethel University (Ind.) at Blackthorn Golf Course that begins on Friday, September 29.
