Morris, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University men's golf team defeated Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in match-play, 10 ½ to 4 1/2, to win the Cal Sag Cup after losing to the Trolls a season ago on the same course.
- Junior Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcolm X/St. Rita) tied Ricardo Serpa, as both golfers shot 1 ½.
- Freshman Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) finished 2-up on Randy Miller, 2 ½ to ½.
- Freshman Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) tied Joshua Smith with both posting scores of 1 ½.
- Freshman Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished 3-up on his opponent.
- Senior Miguel Madrigal (Evergreen Park, Ill./Moraine Valley/ Evergreen Park) was 1-up over Justice Gilliland, 2-1.
Saint Xavier returns to action on Monday, April 15, when they compete in the Judson University (Ill.) Spring Invite at Randall Oaks G.C. in West Dundee, Ill.
