Wheaton, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University men's golf team took part in the two-day Flyer Spring Invite hosted by Lewis University (Ill.) this weekend at Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton, Ill. The Cougars did not post a team score as only three golfers were in action. Drury University (Mo.) won the team title with a score of 582 (+4), 24 shots better than the runner-up. Hunter Jowers from Drury had the lowest individual score at -6 under par with a two-day total of 138.
- Freshman Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) had the lowest score for SXU, finishing in a tie for 37th with a total of 165 (+21). He shot a round of 83 on Friday and was one shot better on Saturday with a round of 82.
- Freshman Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) placed 42nd with a two-day score of 173 (+29). He recorded a score of 81 Friday afternoon and turned in a card of 92 on Saturday.
- Freshman Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) wasn't too far behind, finishing 44th overall with a tally of 175 (+31). He carded a round of 88 on the first loop on day one and lowered his score by a shot on day two with an 87.
Saint Xavier takes part in the University of St. Francis (lll.) Invite on Tuesday, April 9 at Wedgewood Golf Course in Joliet, Ill.
