Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) shot the lowest round of any golfer to win his first individual title with a score of 73 and the Saint Xavier University men's golf team won the team crown with a score of 308, five shots better than runner-up Illinois Valley Community College Tuesday afternoon at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invite at Wedgewood Golf Club in Joliet, Ill. Stood is the first SXU golfer to finish in first place since
Michael Furlong (2020-23) did so last season at the Jaguars Fall Invite on September 7, 2022. It was the first team win for the Cougars, five years to the day, when they won the Judson University (Ill.) Invite on April 9, 2019.
- Freshman Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) was three strokes behind his teammate and tied for second place with a round of 76.
- Junior Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcolm X/St. Rita) was three shots behind Dyson as he carded a score of 79.
- Freshman Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished the 18-hole loop with a round of 80.
Saint Xavier hosts the Cal Sag Cup at The Creek at Morris Country Club on Saturday, April 13.
