Galena, Ill. – Sophomore Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) shot a two-day score of 158 (+14) and was just six shots behind the winner for an eighth-place finish, while sophomore Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) was just a shot behind his teammate with a total score of 159 (+15) for the Saint Xavier University men's golf team at Clarke University (Iowa) Fall Classic at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, Ill. Wednesday afternoon. Dyson shot an 82 on day one, before lowering his score by six strokes on day two. Stood also shot an 82 on the first day, and turned in a card of 77 on the second day. As a team, the Cougars finished third out of five teams with a total score of 646 (333-313) for a +70. Host Clarke won the tournament with a score of 632 (316-316) for a +56, three shots better than the University of Dubuque 'B' Team.

• On the first day, Dyson eagled twice on the Par-Five 2^nd hole and the Par-Five 6^th hole, while also sinking a birdie on the Par-Four 16^th hole. On day two, Dyson eagled again, this time on the Par-Five 5^th hole and adding a birdie on the Par-Three 13^th hole.
• Stood also eagled on the 2^nd and 6^th holes on Tuesday afternoon with a pair of birdies on the Par-Five 12^th hole and the 16^th hole. He drained four birdies on Wednesday on the 5^th, the 13^th, the Par-Four 14^th and the Par-Four 18^th holes.
• Sophomore Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) competed as an individual and tied for 11^th with a score of 162 (+18). He was +2 on the first day with a round of 74 and finished the tournament with an 88 on Wednesday. He eagled three times on the 2^nd, 6^th and the Par-Five 12^th hole, with birdies on the Par-Four 16^th and the Par-Five 18^th hole on day one.
• Freshman Lincoln Chizmark (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) placed 13^th with a score of 163 (+19). He shot an 83 in round one and took three strokes off in the second round with an 80. Chizmark also eagled the 2^nd and 6^th holes with birdies on the 12^th, 16^th and Par-Four 17^th hole on Tuesday. He sank three birdies on day two on the Par-Five 2^nd, Par-Five 5^th and Par-Five 11^th holes.
• Senior Brendan Patton (Beverly, Ill./Holy Cross/Malcolm X/St. Rita) tied for 14^th overall with a two-day tally of 166 (+22). He finished the first 18-hole loop with a score of 86 and followed that with a round of 80 on the second day. Round one saw Patton make three birdies on the 6^th, 16^th and 18^th holes. He birdied on the Par-Four 9^th hole and the Par-Four 14^th on Wednesday.
• Freshman Talon Hawk (Morro Bay, Calif./Morro Bay) finished 22^nd with a 36-hole score of 176 (+32). He shot a round of 90 on day one and lowered his score by four shots on the second day with an 86. Hawk sank an eagle on the 12^th hole and he added a pair of birdies on the 6^th and 16^th holes on Tuesday. He birdied the Par-Five 5^th hole in round two.
• Freshman Patrick Glavin (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) also competed as an individual and was 23^rd with a score of 179 (+35). He shot an 89 on Tuesday, followed by a card of 90 on day two. Glavin eagled the Par-Four 16^th and birdied on the Par-Five 18^th hole in round one.
• Junior Connor Wilson (Lockport, Ill./Joliet Junior College/Lockport Township) competed as an individual as well, tying for 27^th with a score of 186 (+42). He eagles the 2^nd hole and drained a pair of birdies on the 6^th and 18^th holes on day one.

Saint Xavier competes in the two-day NAIA Midwest Invitational hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) that begins on Monday, September 23 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
