Joliet, Ill. – Freshman
Talon Hawk (Morro Bay, Calif./Morro Bay) shot a career-best round of 70 (-1), placing fourth after a tiebreaker, to help lead the Saint Xavier University men's golf team to a first-place finish at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Spring Invitational Thursday afternoon at Wedgwood Golf Course in Joliet, Ill. As a team, the Cougars totaled a score of 296, winning by six strokes over College of DuPage (Ill.). Hawk finishes just two shots behind Jonathan Waugh of Aurora University (Ill.), who shot a 68 (-3) to win the individual crown.
- Sophomore Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) turned in a card of 75 (+4), tying for 11th place.
- Sophomore Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) tied his teammate, also shooting a round of 75 (+4).
- Sophomore Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) placed in a four-way tie for 13th, one shot behind Glennon and Stood, finishing the 18-loop with a score of 76 (+5).
- Freshman Lincoln Chizmark (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) finished in a four-way tie for 17th overall, posting a score of 77 (+6).
- Freshman Patrick Glavin (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) compete as an individual, tying Dyson with a round of 76 (+5).
Saint Xavier returns to action on Monday, April 14 when they take part in the Judson University (Ill.) Spring Invite at Randall Oaks Golf Course in West Dundee, Ill.
