West Dundee, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University men's golf team finished eighth out of 22 teams with a total score of 336 (+52) Monday afternoon at the Judson University (Ill.) Spring Invitational at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Ill. The Cougars were led by sophomore
Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and freshman
Lincoln Chizmark (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West), who each shot rounds of 83 (+12) to tie for 22
nd overall. Glennon made a birdie on the Par Four first hole and he parred nine times, while Chizmark made par of seven holes on the afternoon. St. Norbert College (Wis.) and Wisconsin Lutheran College tied for first with team scores of 321 (+37), respectively. Nathan Kwiatkowski from College of DuPage (Ill.) won the individual crown with a round of 74 (+3).
- Competing as an individual, freshman Patrick Glavin (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) joined his teammates in shooting a round of 83. He sank a birdie putt on the Par Five ninth hole, and he also made par on seven other holes.
- Freshman Talon Hawk (Morro Bay, Calif./Morro Bay) finished in a tie for 34th after turning in a card of 84 (+13). He made a pair of birdies on the day, converting a birdie on the Par Four third hole and doing so again on the Par Five 15th hole. Hawk parred on eight other holes.
- Sophomore Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) tied for 49th after finishing the 18-hole loop with a score of 86 (+15). He made par on seven holes on the day.
- Sophomore Ayden Dyson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) finished in a tie for 76th with his round of 89 (+18). He parred on eight holes for SXU.
Saint Xavier takes Intertate-80 West to LaSalle, Ill. to participate in the two-day Eagle Spring Invite hosted by Illinois Valley Community College at Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Course. The tournament begins on Thursday, April 17.
