CHICAGO – For the second time this season, senior
Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors for the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team when the awards were announced by the league office Thursday morning after his strong performance this weekend at the two-day Big Meet Invite hosted by Grand Valley State University (Mich.) in Allendale, Mich. Harris set a new program record in the 60m Hurdles in the preliminaries on Friday. He also ran the second-fastest time of his career in the 60m Dash on Saturday.
- Harris posted a time of 8.08 in the prelims, breaking the previous program record of 8.09 set by his former teammate Lendale Franklin (2021-25) on December 1, 2023. In the finals, he placed eighth overall at 8.23 seconds. His time in the preliminaries hit the NAIA 'B' Standard.
- In the 60m Dash, Harris recorded his second-best career time, and the seventh-fastest time school history, placing sixth at 6.93 seconds.
- He has hit the NAIA 'B' Standard in two events this Indoor season. Harris is currently tied for No. 12 in the 200m at 21.45 seconds, a mark set on December 11 to go along with his record setting run last Friday, which is tied for No. 14 in the NAIA.
Saint Xavier competes in the two-day Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships beginning on Friday, February 20 hosted by Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in Bourbonnais, Ill.
