KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior setter
Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) earned NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week for the No. 2 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (20-3/9-0 CCAC) when the awards were announced by the national office Tuesday afternoon. He also claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week earlies in the morning. It is the third time in 2026 that Daniels has won NAIA Setter of the Week, joining former NAIA All-American Aaron Kummer (2017-21) as the only players in team history to win NAIA Player of the Week more than twice in a season as Kummer also won NAIA Setter of the Week three times in 2021.
- Daniels helped SXU go 3-0 on the week, totaling 126 assists with an average of 12.60 assists per set in 10 sets, 13 digs, seven blocks, six service aces and four kills.
- He handed out 33 assists with a career-high tying five blocks, four digs and two aces in a 3-0 victory over Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Thursday, March 19.
- On Saturday at the St. Ambrose University (Iowa) Tri-Match, Daniels posted his second-highest mark in assists this year with 55, adding four digs, four service aces, two blocks and a kill in a 3-1 triumph over the Fighting Bees. He capped the week with 38 assists, five digs and three kills in a sweep of No. 12 Bethel University (Ind.) in the second match Saturday afternoon.
- Through 20 matches in 2026, Daniels leads Saint Xavier with 688 assists and 10.75 assists per set in 64 sets. He also has 102 digs, 31 blocks (seven solos), 28 aces and 21 kills. Daniels is the conference leader in total assists and assists per set and he is No. 3 in total service aces. Nationally, Daniels in No. 4 in assists per set and No. 7 in total assists.
No. 2 Saint Xavier (20-3/9-0 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center to play Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in a CCAC contest on Tuesday, March 24. First serve is slated for 7:00 pm in Chicago, Ill.
