CHICAGO – For the seventh time this season, and the second week in a row, junior setter
Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week for the No. 3 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (22-3/11-0 CCAC) when the awards were announced by the league office Tuesday morning. Daniels totaled 64 assists, with an average of 10.67 assists per set in six sets, to pace the Cougar offense in a pair of CCAC victories. He added 10 digs, three service aces, and two blocks. It is the 17
th time in his career that Daniels has been named the CCAC Setter of the Week.
- In a three-set win over Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) last Tuesday, Daniels handed out 33 assists while adding seven digs, two aces and two blocks.
- He recorded 31 assists, three digs and a service ace last Thursday in a three-set triumph over Governors State University (Ill.).
- Daniels has issued a team-leading 752 assists in 22 matches, along with 112 digs, 33 blocks (seven solos), 31 aces and 21 kills.
- He leads the CCAC in total assists and assists per set with 10.74, as well as tying for No. 3 in total service aces and No. 4 in aces per set at 0.44. Nationally, Daniels in No. 4 in assists per set and No. 6 in total assists.
No. 3 Saint Xavier (22-3/11-0 CCAC) hosts Judson University (Ill.) in CCAC competition on Tuesday, March 31 at the Shannon Center. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
