Wesley Chapel, Fla. – The Saint Xavier University Men's Golf team started the 2026 portion of their schedule, placing sixth out of six teams at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff hosted by NCAA Division II Walsh University (Ohio) at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chanel, Fla. The Cougars posted a three-day score of 981 (318, 317, 346) to finish at +129. Sophomore Talon Hawk (Athens, Ohio/Morro Bay) tied for 14^th overall with two other golfers, recording a 54-hole score of 236 (79, 76, 81) at +23. He sank two birdies on day one, on the Par-Five fourth hole and the Par-Five 14^th hole. On day two, Hawk drained two more birdies, on the Par-Four first hole and the Par-Four fifth hole. He concluded the tournament with another birdie on the 14^th hole. NCAA Division II Davenport University (Mich.) won the tournament with a team score of 887 (299, 289, 299) at +35. The Panthers also had the top individual scorer with Cayden Kwan (72, 71, 74) at +4 winning by five strokes.

• Junior Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) tied with two other golfers for 18^th place carding a three-day tally of 238 (78, 75, 85) at +25. He made a birdie-putt on the 14^th hole to begin the tournament on Tuesday. Stood sank three birdies on Wednesday on the first hole, the Par-Three 12^th hole and the 14^th hole again. He birdied the Par-Three third hole on Thursday.
• Junior Joey Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) was 30^th with his score of 248 (76, 82, 90) at +35. He started the tournament with three birdies on the Par-Five seventh hole, the Par-Four 10^th hole as well as on the 12^th hole.
• Freshman Thor Hock (Palos Park, Ill./Brother Rice) finished 35^th with a tally of 266 (92, 84, 90) at +53. He drained a birdie on the 14^th hole on day two.
• Freshman Ryne Shields (Oak Lawn, Ill./Brother Rice) was only four strokes behind his teammate for a 36^th place draw with a mark of 270 (85, 92, 93 at +57. He sank a birdie on the Par-Four 15^th hole and another on the Par-Three 17^th hole on Tuesday. Shields made another birdie putt on the fourth hole to wrap up the tournament on Thursday.

Saint Xavier travels to Chapin, South Carolina to compete in the two-day Koala Classic hosted by Columbia College (S.C.) at Timberlake Country Club that begins on Monday, March 23.
